The angered Martin Luther King, SNCC and supporters planned another march. On March 9, Martin Luther King led a group of demonstrators to the Pettus Bridge where they were met by deputies and troopers once again. Martin Luther King asked only to pray, the men condoled it. They prayed and Sheriff Jim Clarks deputies and major John Clouds troopers unblocked the bridge. But Martin Luther King ease returned to Brown Chapel and did not press on. This infuriated SNCC, whom after seeing the deputies and troopers move wanted to continue with the demonstration.
Martin Luther King had do a deal with Federal Mediators and he did not concupiscence to violate it. But The Student Nonviolence Coordinating Committee saw no reason not to continue on because the men had cleared the way and thus they believed they should be equal to(p) to move through without problems. I believe that Martin Luther King wanted to maintain his practices of non-violence so he abided with his agreement with the federal mediators in order to not endanger anyone. SNCC was a part of Bloody Sunday and first handily witnessed the anger and brutality of the men who attacked the demonstrators causing them to be filled with hatred.
